Shallotte Fire Receives ISO Rating Class 2
Congratulations to our Shallotte Fire Department on receiving an ISO Rating Class 2 from the Public Protection Classification (PPC) Program!
What does this mean?
- The ISO (Insurance Services Office) Fire score, recognizes the efforts of communities to provide fire protection services for citizens and property owners.
- Insurance companies use the score to help set home insurance rates.
- ISO fire insurance rating is a score from 1 to 10, with 1 being the best possible rating and 10 being the worst possible rating. The rating indicates how well-protected your community is by the Fire Department.
- 1,533 Fire Departments are rated by the NC , only 13 departments currently have a class 1 rating and 15 departments have a class 2 rating.
To achieve an ISO rating of 2 down from a 4 is an outstanding accomplishment for our Shallotte Fire Department and our Shallotte Citizens.
Thank you Chief Dunwell and staff for a job well done!
